Day 1: Arrival at Glacier National Park with a hike to Avalanch Lake. Afternoon departure to St. Marys in East Glacier, travelling over the Going-to-the-Sun Road and Logan Pass. Very near the entrance is Great Bear – a lodge that will make you feel right at home in the great west!
Day 2: Morning tour of the Blackfeet Reservation with a cultural interpreter/guide including traditional Native American lunch. Afternoon free to explore on your own or join an optional hike to Red Eagle Lake or canoeing on St. Mary Lake. We will spend another fantastic evening at our lodge – considered one of the best in Glacier National Park.
Day 3: Upon arrival at Many Glacier we will join our hiking guide for a boat ride across Swiftcurrent Lake. Leaving from the Girnell Glacier Trailhead, we’ll hike into the Canadian Waterton National Park. This evening we check into one of Canada’s best wilderness lodges. This will be home for the next few nights.
Day 4: This morning a boat shuttle takes us to the trailhead for a full-day hike to awe-inspiring Crypt Lake. Highlights include a natural tunnel and cliff traverse on the way to this turquoise lake, watching for mountain goats and alpine pygmy poppy.
Day 5: This morning we head west to Fernie with a stop at Frank’s Slide and Sparwood to observe the local attractions. Sparwood is known for some of the most ruggedly beautiful scenery in the world. In the winter time Fernie is a top notch ski destination.
Day 6: With a vast network of trails leaving right from our lodge, you will find the perfect last hike whether a woodland walk or 3 hour nature trail. Optional activities offered, including fly-fishing the famous Elk River. The entire Elk River valley is an area you will never forget.
Day 7: We will return back to the US with our arrival back in Kalispell, Montana this morning for return departures home or to continue on to another magical place.
The itinerary is between $2,995 and $3,295 per person.
