Black Rock’s Jim Engh-designed course was voted the Best New Course of 2003 by Golf Digest. This is genuinely a unique golf experience of dramtic cliffs, cavernous natural bunkers, sparkling lake panoramas with stunning curves and textures. The 7000 yards of rolling hills include a back 9 holes with waterfalls cascading over black rock cliffs and panoramic views of Lake Coeur dAlene. Jim says the best golf hole he ever designed was number 11 on this exclusive course.
Circling Raven, a Gene Bates design golf course, is located on 620 wildly beautiful acres within the Coeur d Alene Indian Reservation lands. Voted as one of the top 10 Best New Casino courses in America, this 18- hole beauty winds through natural wetlands, woodlands and native palouse grasses.
The Hayden Lake Country Club is a private, member owned club rich in tradition and historical heritage. Origonally opened in 1907 by the Spokane & Inland Empire Railroad as a retreat for the wealthy, it became the Hayden Lake Country Club in 1927 and maintains its 18- hole golf course to the highest of standards and quality. The 6,030 yards of course are nestled along the shores of pristine Hayden Lake.
Master golf course designer Tom Fazio has created Gozzer Ranch’s breathtaking 18- hole championship golf course with spectacular lake views. This 700 acre course, surrounded by basalt rock bluffs with dramatic spires and cliffs, is so well integrated within its surrounding that it looks like a natural part of the landscape. The 431 yard, par-5 hole 15 is his favorite for its unimaginable views of Lake Coeurdalene.

Our company was looking for a destination management company in Coeur d’Alene that could help plan a weekend incentive meeting. TMI gave us a great choice of luxury vacations rentals on the lake to choose from. They even helped us arrange a very special afternoon for the wives, with wine tasting at a local artist’s gallery and lessons in oil painting. Everyone came away with their own special creation. The meeting was a great success and we will definitely return to CDA for a family vacation in the future.
It is the perfect fall day in northern Idaho, blue skies, crisp air and lot of sunshine. We stopped in at TMI for sightseeing suggestions and they chartered a boat for the whole family to cruise Lake Coeur d’Alene. We left from Independence Point on a Fall Foliage/Wildlife tour up to the St. Joe River on a private boat complete with our own captain/guide. We cruised by the impressive nests of osprey perched on tugboat pilings studding the lake everywhere. There were eagles soaring above us, swooping down to investigate ripples in the water left by surfacing fish. Deer were drinking at the water’s edge in untouched meadows and there were ducks and geese everywhere. The kids could look through the crystal clear water and see fish swimming nearby. The foliage all around the lake and the river was bursting in gold, crimson, and green and was even more beautiful as it reflected in the water. We enjoyed a gourmet lunch served in the warm, cozy cabin before getting ready for our return to Coeur d’Alene.
North Idaho in October…could anything be more beautiful? The family rented bicycles and took to the high mountains on the Trail of the Hiawatha. Breathtaking scenery everywhere with the fall colors in full swing all viewed from the comfort of this historic trail. Back in the afternoon to enjoy Oktoberfest in Coeur d’Alene with downtown concerts in the plaza and wine tasting of local Paciifc Northwest wines and instruction from a guest chef on preparing wild game. The view this evening from the deck of our private lakefront cabin is of the moon rippling over the water as the leaves fall gently onto the beach.
